Happiness is baking.
Long, long ago, in a land not so far away, lived a young girl who loved to bake. Her favorite class was Cake decorating in high school. She always dreamed of owning a cake shop one day. This girl grew up. With growing up she took on more "adult" responsibilities... Car payment, mortgage, 9-5 job, boyfriend. She hardly had the time to bake her cakes.
Boyfriend ask young lady to marry him. She says yes. She longs to make her own wedding cake but knows she doesn't have the time. She, with a heavy heart, orders her wedding cake from someone else. (it was delicious)
2 years later, they have a baby girl. She is perfect. Young woman wants to give her new baby the world. She decides to start baking again to make a little extra cash. She had forgot the love she once had for baking. Every cake is a new challenge. A blank canvas ready to display her art. The smell of cakes baking fills her home and her heart with joy. She looks over at her daughter playing in her high chair and thinks "that's what I am doing this for." She is her priority. This could be her legacy. This could be her dream come true. An empire built in cake.

Minnie Mouse themed birthday cake.
I was so excited when my friend Sara contacted me about doing the cake for her daughters third birthday party. It was minnie mouse themed and she wanted cupcakes. These are the end results. Strawberry cupcakes and a chocolate covered cherry cake. Minnie head and ears on cake are made with milk chocolate. Yum!
